Police: ‘Multiple fatalities’ in Florida shooting by disgruntled worker

U.S. law enforcement authorities said there were 6 dead including the shooter, following a Monday morning shooting in an industrial area near Orlando, Florida.

On its official Twitter account Monday morning, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said four people were dead at scene and one victim died at hospital. The shooter then killed himself. Seven people survived.

The incident is not related to terrorism, local police said. They described this an incident of “workplace violence”. Police said the suspect is 45 years old and is a disgruntled former employee who was fired in April this year. He carried a gun and a knife. He had a prior record of DUI and illegal possession of marijuana.

The shooting was reported about 8 a.m. local time Monday morning (1200 GMT).
