The Heat: UK General Election

The Heat

Votes cast in the general election are counted in Islington in London, shortly after the polls closed Thursday, June 8, 2017. Exit polls projected that Theresa May’s ruling Conservatives would be the largest party, but that they may fall short of a majority. (AP Photo/Frank Augstein)

According to an exit poll just released, the Conservatives have won 314 seats, the Labor Party has 266 votes, the Liberal Democrats have 14 seats and the Scottish National Party has 34 seats out of the 650 seats up for grabs in the House of Commons.

If these numbers hold, May’s Conservative party is in jeopardy of losing its majority.
