Robots hit the sidewalks to deliver goods

Global Business

Robots have found their way into warehouses, hospitals and airports.

And now they may be taking over sidewalks as well.

Companies are building delivery robots, that’ll be showing up at your door.

CGTN’s Mark Niu reports.

Set a destination, load up a package, and Robby is off and rolling.

Robby technologies is testing its fleet of self-driving delivery robots that can cruise the sidewalks at either walking or running speeds, while carrying up to 45 kilograms or 100 pounds.

Founded by two PhDs from MIT – Rui Li and Dheera Venkatraman – Robby technologies has built their robots with computer vision cameras that can see ten meters ahead in all directions.
