Mass drought aggravates malnutrition in Guatemala

Guatemala is Central America’s largest nation and has the region’s most robust economy. Ironically, it also has its highest malnutrition rate.

Hunger has long been a concern in the country but now, a prolonged drought, coupled with poor government planning, has made it more of a dilemma than ever.

Correspondent Harris Whitbeck traveled to the Guatemalan municipality of Jutiapa to show us how mass droughts are threatening the nation.
