Peru's economy battered by floods, Brazil's 'Car Wash' scandal

One of Latin America’s strongest and most stable economies in the last decade, Peru has seen a downturn this year — with growth for 2017 predicted to be around 2.5 percent.

Floods, landslides and fallout from neighboring Brazil’s ‘Car Wash’ corruption scandal has dragged down Peruvian growth, though reconstruction after the flooding might help the economy rebound in the fourth quarter.
