Thailand’s former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra may be on the run. She was expected to be in court to hear her verdict in a negligence trial Thursday. But she never showed up, claiming she was ill.  Some reports say the former leader may have left the country.

CGTN’s Martin Lowe reports.

Yingluck faces charges linked to an ill-fated rice-subsidy program that cost the state Billions.

A guilty verdict could send her to prison for ten years.
