Flood waters from Tropical Storm Harvey continue to rise in Houston, Texas, forcing residents to leave their homes to seek refuge in community shelters. Reaching these shelters has been perilous, and many volunteers have taken their boats to the submerged streets to aid the elderly and vulnerable escape.

Harvey, which made landfall north of Corpus Christi late Friday evening, is expected to dump upwards to 40 inches of rain in areas of Texas through the end of the week.
