Guatemala’s low unemployment figures reveal stark economic reality

A recent United Nations International Labor Organization report on employment in Latin America revealed Guatemala hast the region’s lowest unemployment figures.

However, that revelation raised a few eyebrows in the country, as it is believed almost three quarters of the nation’s workers are in low-paying jobs in the informal sector, and receive no employment benefits.

Correspondent Harris Whitbeck traveled to Guatemala City to explore employment and labor rights issues in the Central American nation.
