The United Nations Security Council unanimously approved new sanctions on the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on Monday night.
The measures come in response to the DPRK’s latest nuclear test, which the government claims was a hydrogen bomb.
China and Russia supported the sanctions, which include a ban on textile exports by the country and limits on crude oil imports.
