The China-Pakistan Economic corridor is expected to be a game-changer for South Asia.


Beijing is investing $62 billion to connect China’s northwestern autonomous region of Xinjiang with Pakistan’s port of Gwadar. It’s all part of China’s Belt and Road Initiative and includes highways, railways, power plants and industrial parks.

The Heat’s Anand Naidoo had the chance to sit down with Khawaja Muhammad Asif, the Foreign Minister of Pakistan.

During his address to the United Nations, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi called for an international investigation into alleged Indian atrocities in Kashmir. Since 1947, Pakistan and India have fought three wars over Kashmir and have both established themselves as nuclear powers.
