The Heat: US-China Cyber Security Dialogue

The Heat

U.S.-China Cybersecurity Dialogue

Back in April, Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump agreed to establish bilateral dialogues – a cabinet-level framework for negotiations in four key areas.

Since then the two sides have held comprehensive talks on diplomatic and security issues; the economy; and people-to-people exchanges. And this week representatives from China and the United States met in Washington to discuss concerns in the area of cyber security and law enforcement.

CGTN’s Nathan King has more.

To discuss cybersecurity:

  • Christopher Yung is the director of East Asian studies at Marine Corps University.
  • Song Zhang covers diplomatic and security news as the chief correspondent for Shanghai Wen Hui Daily.
  • Ronald Cheng is an attorney and focuses on data security, privacy and anti-corruption laws.
  • Yun Sun is a senior associate with the Stimson Center’s East Asia Program.
