In an exclusive interview with CGTN, the White House for the first time articulated its China policy. U.S. President Donald Trump’s National Security Adviser General H. R. McMaster told CGTN’s Wang Guan that the administration seeks to expand cooperation with China, both in security and economic ties.
General Mc.Master also talked about expectations of Trump’s upcoming trip to China, which Beijing says will be a “state visit plus”. McMaster warns that time is running out to resolve the tensions with The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and offered a path forward short of war. He also talked about the U.S. view of the new Chinese leadership coming out of the recently concluded 19th Party Congress.
