UN warns of sexual violence against Rohingya as exodus continues

World Today

A top U.N. official said $10 million is needed to immediately provide help for Rohingya refugees victimized by sexual violence.

CGTN’s Shweta Bajaj reports from a refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.

Pramila Patten, Special Representative of the Secretary General on Sexual Violence in Conflict, said she’ll take her concerns about sexual violence to the International Criminal Court.

Aid groups say most of the refugees are women and children, and there seems to be no end in sight to the exodus from Myanmar to Bangladesh.
