While some provisional vote results in this week’s Liberian presidential runoff have begun coming in, the election commission is warning both candidates not to claim victory just yet. More than 5,000 polling stations are sending in results for verification.

Provisional results are expected to be announced on Thursday, and the new president – either former football player George Weah or vice president Joseph Boakai  – is set to be inaugurated in mid-January.
