The worldwide approval rating for U.S. leadership under President Donald Trump is at a new low of 30 percent, Gallup World Polling found. This is down from the 48 percent approval rating of under former President Barack Obama in his last year in office, and lower than the 34 percent rating for the last year of the George W. Bush administration.

“One year into Donald Trump’s presidency, the image of U.S. leadership is weaker worldwide than it was under his two predecessors,” Gallup Polling wrote.

The organization surveyed 134 countries and areas to rate their views on U.S. leadership under Trump one year after he took office.

The survey also found that Germany has replaced the United States as the top-rated global power in the world.

Of all the countries surveyed, approval of U.S. leadership has declined by 10 percentage points or more in 65 countries, including some longtime U.S. allies.

Gallup said that Portugal, Belgium, Norway and Canada led in the largest declines in their views of the U.S. president — dropping 40 points or more each.

However approval of the U.S. leadership has increased by 10 points or more in just four countries: Liberia, Macedonia, Israel, and Belarus.

Gallup World Polling said that the image of U.S. leadership suffered the most in the Americas, where the current median approval rating of the U.S. leadership is 24 percent — which is about half of what it was under Obama’s last year in office.
