February is Black History Month in the United States – a time to reflect on African American history and contributions to society.
And while some progress has been made, black people continue to face challenges in such areas as employment, education, pay and housing – as well as incidents of racially charged rhetoric and violence.
CGTN’s Jim Spellman reports.
To discuss this:
- Raynard Jackson, Founder and Chairman of Black Americans for a Better Future
- Kay Wright Lewis teaches history at Howard University
- Hilary Shelton, NAACP’s Senior Vice President for Advocacy and Policy and Director of its Washington bureau
