Salt Cathedral in Zipaquira, Colombia is an underground treasure

An hour outside of Colombia’s capital city is one of the country’s architectural wonders. It’s a series of underground chambers located in a former salt mine.

It’s a “pillar of strength” for the area’s residents and also one of Bogota’s most popular tourist attractions.

At 180 meters beneath the earth, 250,000 tons of salt needed to be removed to create it.
