Lyupito Nyong’o’s Kenyan hometown hosts early premier of Black Panther

The latest Marvel comics film, “The Black Panther,” lands in theaters Thursday. It’s the first superhero film to be set in Africa, and have a majority black cast.

But people in one African city – Kisumu – have already seen the film.

CGTN’s Vauldi Carelse was there.

The port city is the first in the country to screen the much-anticipated film. Lead actresses, Lupita Nyong’o, is from there.

Hundreds of fans flooded to the premiere, hoping for a glimpse of the Oscar-winner.
