U.N. chief Antonio Guterres called the current situation in eastern Ghouta, Syria “hell on earth” for the 400,000 people living there.

Fighting in the rebel-held Ghouta has killed at least 300 people over three days, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Doctors in the area said that they were unable to keep up with the staggering number of casualties due to the campaign.

The Syrian military has been targeting the area, saying it is working to rid it of terrorists.

Russian spokesman Dmitry Peskov rejected allegations that Russia is responsible for civilian deaths in Ghouta… calling the claims “unfounded.”

Meanwhile, reports show that hospitals and everyday needs for residents are being targeted.
