Eight more Turkish soldiers have been killed in northern Syria’s Afrin region.

Ankara said some 40 Turkish troops have now died since it’s cross-border operation against Kurdish forces began earlier this year.

Meanwhile, the U.N. is calling for the immediate evacuation of wounded from the embattled Ghouta region near Damascus.
