CGTN’s Kate Fisher examines the struggle for many women who hope to be mothers one day.

The number of women in the United States who are freezing their eggs has grown significantly — from just 475 in 2009 to nearly 8,000 in 2015 — according to a Washington Post report citing the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology.

Even though the costs are high and the chances of success diminish with age, it hasn’t deterred thousands of women from shoring up their chances at motherhood.
