Since the dawn of time mankind has sought an answer to an undying question ‘are we alone?’ The TESS satellite could provide the answer.

NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite, or TESS, is hunting for so-called exoplanets orbiting stars in our own cosmic backyard.

If the temperature is just right, a planet may support life.

TESS will map about 85 percent of the sky.

It spots planets by watching them move in front of their stars.

TESS is expected to find thousands of planets over the next two years.

After launch on board a Space X rocket, TESS is expected to send back its first images by June.
