About CGTN America

CGTN America wins AIGA 50 award for set design

CGTN America won an AIGA 50 D.C. award for our Global Business Set Design. Our Creative team consisted of Lead Designer, Ronald Cortez and Creative Director, Alexander Shields.

Entries were judged on the overall effectiveness of the design solution and the design brief for The American Institute of Graphic Arts, Washington, D.C. chapter.

As part of our written entry submission CGTN America said, “We added a new time slot at the beginning of 2017. Our “Global Business” show would now air a 30-min program to provide bite-sized snippets of the day’s business news. To help differentiate the 30-min show from our original hour-long program, we were asked to create a new set design that appeals to not only our international audience, but business savvy viewers alike. We created window panels which housed various stocks, bar graphs, photos, and currencies.

Our greatest challenge was trying to finesse the graphics around a busy newsroom time schedule. We’re glad we finally got this on-air!”
