A survivor of domestic violence regains her identity with graffiti art

Americas Now

According to a study by the Brazilian Forum on Public Safety, more than twelve women are murdered every day in Brazil. And an alarming percentage of those deaths are the result of domestic violence.

That could very well have been the fate of our Game Changer – a rising star known as Brazil’s Graffiti Queen. Once a victim, she decided to leave her husband and try to release her demons by helping other women through her art and her activism.

She has come a long way. She was listed as one of Newsweek’s “150 women who shake the world” and recognized as a “Young Global Leader” at the World Economic Forum.

Meet our Game Changer Panmela Castro.
