Is the creation of a complete wall between the U.S. and Mexico possible?

Americas Now

U.S. President Donald Trump continues to insist on building a border wall with Mexico. He also maintains the idea that Mexico will foot the bill for the construction.

But there are some blockades to Trumps’ own blockade. One is simple geography. Finishing the Texas part of the wall would be challenging to construct because of the meandering Rio Grande river.

Correspondent Alasdair Baverstock took a closer look from beside the wall itself.

Illegal immigration occurs on a daily basis in south Texas. And many residents favor President Trump’s proposed wall even though its construction would be life-altering.

The border wall has also caused concern among residents about land seizure by the federal government. Most of the land along the Texas border is privately-owned.
