Chinese taste buds were on fire at an annual chili pepper eating contest in China’s Hunan Province. The winner ate 50 peppers in just 68 seconds, while sitting in a pool filled to the brim with peppers.

Hunan is known for its hot foods and richly colored dishes, but in the West is overshadowed by the similarly spicy Sichuan cuisine. In China, there are eight main regional cuisines overall.
