BRICS leaders gather in Johannesburg ahead of Wednesday’s summit

BRICS brings together the leaders of the world’s major emerging economies: Brazil, Russia, India, China and host South Africa.

This year’s summit will focus on development across Africa.

One of the themes of this year’s summit is development and advancement of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (FIR). This year also represents a decade of BRICS cooperation. The bloc has sought out academics and youth to join in discussions and said it’s seeking “inclusive” growth.
