Israel's nation-state law

The Israeli parliament recently passed a bill that declares Israel a nation-state of the Jewish people.

The bill, backed by Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, passed through parliament after months of political debate.  It states, “Israel is the historical homeland of the Jewish people and they have an exclusive right to self-determination.”  Israeli Arab lawmakers are condemning the new law.
