Cuba’s National Assembly agreed on changes to its Constitution this week. It updates the version that was approved back in 1976.

The reforms include setting term limits and age limits for future presidents and the creation of a new prime minister position. They also recognize private property rights and same-sex marriage for citizens.

Joining Elaine Reyes on the set of “Americas Now” to discuss these changes is James Early, an expert on U.S. Cuba Relations. He’s also the Former Director of Cultural Heritage Policy at the Smithsonian.
