“Repatriados” move back to Cuba after economic changes

Changes in Cuba’s economic system have opened doors for ex-patriots and entrepreneurs. Thousands of Cubans living outside the country have returned home to Cuba since 2016. “Repatriados” is the Spanish term for people who move back to their home country after living abroad.

Some of these Repatriados were drawn by the strong sense of community in Cuba, others by the prospect of opening their own businesses.

Correspondent Michelle Begue tells us about the economic policies that brought them back.

Cuba’s National Assembly recently approved even more reforms in a new Constitution. Will more Cubans living abroad return home in light of changes?
