Reimposed U.S. sanctions on Iran are now in effect. They’re the result of the Trump administration unilaterally pulling out of the 2015 international nuclear agreement, which it called “flawed”.
Tehran now finds itself backed into a corner, with ordinary Iranians dealing with the fallout.

U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted about his executive order, while issuing a warning to countries still in the deal.
The Iran sanctions have officially been cast. These are the most biting sanctions ever imposed, and in November they ratchet up to yet another level. Anyone doing business with Iran will NOT be doing business with the United States. I am asking for WORLD PEACE, nothing less!

In a direct response to that tweet, Iran’s foreign minister Javad Zarif tweeted, “Reminder: International relations is not a beauty pageant, with tired cliches about a desire for WORLD PEACE.”
