Colombians are heading to the polls on Sunday to vote on a referendum aimed at reining in corruption. They will vote on a series of bills that will slash the salaries of Congress members and make public spending more efficient and transparent.

However, opponents say the laws will do little to change the culture in a country where white collar criminals are gaining increasing amounts of power.

CGTN’S Michelle Begue reports from Bogota.

For more on the referendum, CGTN’s Roee Ruttenberg spoke with Andres Saenz, who is an Associate Director at Control Risks’ Crisis and Security Consulting Department and focuses on Spanish-speaking South America.
