U.N. officials are warning that a growing migrant crisis in South America could reach the same scale as that seen in the Mediterranean. Many are sounding the alarm over the exodus of people from Venezuela, with several countries struggling to handle the thousands of migrants.

CGTN’s Dan Collyns reports from Lima.

Ecuador approved new border restrictions for Venezuelans–only for them to be rolled back. Peru has taken similar measures. Leaders from those two countries plus Colombia will meet Monday in Bogota to address the crisis.
