The Heat: Global terrorism is on the decline

The Heat

Terrorism is down around the world but is the threat over?

Global terrorism has driven headlines for almost two decades. But, the number of attacks has declined and the number of deaths has sharply dropped over the past three years.

For a look at the numbers behind the trend, CGTN’s Megan Pratz reports.

To discuss the current threat of terrorism:

  • Akinola Olojo is a senior researcher in transnational threats and international crime at the Institute for Security Studies.
  • Raffaello Pantucci is director of International Security Studies at the Royal United Services Institute.
  • Kamran Bokhari is a fellow with the Program of Extremism at George Washington University.
  • Peter Vincent is a global security and counterterrorism expert who served in the U.S. Departments of Justice and Homeland Security.
