Venezuelan migrants receive warm welcome in Peru’s farming communities

Colombia, Ecuador and Peru are appealing to the international community for aid as they deal with the surge in migrants from Venezuela.

The International Monetary Fund predicts inflation in Venezuela will reach 1 million percent by the end of the year.

More than 1.6 million Venezuelans have fled the country since 2015 – overwhelming public services in other Latin American countries.

In Peru, some migrants are finding it easier to integrate into small agricultural communities.

CGTN’s Dan Collyns visited one such Peruvian town on the border with Ecuador.
