A ballerina shares her experience being part of the Cuban National Ballet

Cuban icon Alicia Alonso is the most celebrated ballet dancer in Latin America. She became the symbol of the renowned Cuban National Ballet Company which she still directs. 

Today a new generation of ballerinas hope to continue her legacy. Among them is Daniela Gomez who wants to teach ballet when she retires.  She hopes to pass her knowledge and experience on to future Cuban dancers.

“Americas Now” had a chance to talk to Daniela in Washington, DC as she travels the globe performing her art. 

She tells us what it means to be part of one of the world’s most renowned ballet companies.
