China and Egypt are deepening their economic partnership. Beijing is now Egypt’s biggest trading partner, with trade reaching $11 billion last year.

Chinese direct investments reportedly increased to $260 million, as well. Earlier this month, the two countries signed new agreements with the expectation of further growth ahead. It’s all part of China’s ever-expanding Belt and Road Initiative.
