The Heat

China said trade protectionism will ultimately hurt U.S. interests.

That’s the thrust of a new white paper outlining the government’s views on its escalating trade war with the United States.

The report was released shortly after the latest round of U.S. tariffs on $200 billion of Chinese imports took effect. China responded with tariffs on an additional $60 billion in U.S. products – with each side showing no sign of backing down.
