LAPD training how to react in an active shooter situation

The Los Angeles’ Police Department is now actively training people on what to do if they’re in an active shooter situation.

This is the training nobody wants, but they all need it, just in case.

Because the U.S. has a gun problem, more people died in mass shootings last year than any year since the start of the century.

As trainers say, this is the new reality. The attacks are home-bred, they’re not people coming, from other places, but they’re happening here. And people need to shake out of their complacency.

CGTN’s Phil Lavelle attended a recent training session.
