US Midterm Election 2018: Farmers worry that tariffs are closing off markets

The U.S. economy is one of the top issues for voters in this Midterm election. Washington’s trade policies are having a personal effect on farmers in the US agricultural belt.

CGTN’s Nathan King traveled across several key states, to take the pulse of the nation ahead of the polls. He kicks off the coverage in Illinois and Wisconsin where soybean and dairy farmers are struggling with growing impact of tariffs.

Nathan asked Wisconsin’s seating Senator Tammy Baldwin about the future of dairy farms in Wisconsin.

He also makes a stop at the famous Mars Cheese Castle, a family-owned business turned popular tourist attraction.
