The Heat: Interview with Aimen Dean

The Heat

Aimen Dean – formerly known as Abu al-Abbas – was an early member of Al-Qaeda. After becoming disillusioned by the group’s philosophy and actions, he became a spy for the British intelligence services.

The information that he shared went all the way to the White House and saved many lives, according to American intelligence officials. Now he tells his story in the book called “Nine Lives: My Time as the West’s Top Spy Inside Al-Qaeda.”

CGTN’s John Gilmore has the details.

Aimen Dean spoke with CGTN’s Anand Naidoo from Ireland.
