Original NAFTA agreement may have caused an obesity epidemic in Mexico

In addition to the main meetings that took place in Argentina at the G20 Summit, there were dialogues occurring on the sidelines as well. Canada, the United States and Mexico are off to a fresh start with a revised version of the North American Free Trade Agreement.

It has been a very productive ride for Mexico during the 24 year NAFTA agreement. For example, its GDP per capita jumped up over 20 percent.

But there have been some downsides too. Especially in the way Mexicans consume and eat.
