Empowering kids with Down Syndrome through photography

Americas Now

Several years ago a photographer in Sao Paulo had an innovative idea. She gave her son a camera and brought him along on one of her shoots. Her son has Down Syndrome and the camera boosted his confidence and helped him discover a new world.

That experience inspired her to start a program teaching photography to other young people with Down Syndrome. And through their lenses they’re seeing life in a brand new way.
