One of the biggest criminal trials in U.S. history is underway in Brooklyn, New York. It’s the trial of accused Mexican drug lord Joaquin Guzman known as “El Chapo” or “Shorty.”

U.S. government prosecutors claim he smuggled billions of dollars in illegal narcotics to the United States. He’s also charged with ordering the murders of those standing in his way.

Guzman pleaded not guilty. And his defense team argues he’s not the drug kingpin portrayed by the US government.

Correspondent Mike Kirsch tells us more from New York City. He also takes a look back at his operation in Mexico.
