Chinese New Year

China is celebrating its most important holiday – Chinese New Year – also called Spring Festival.

Hundreds of millions of Chinese watched the annual Spring Festival Gala on television to kick off the Year of the Pig.

People all across the country have made their way home to be part of the important family celebrations.

And, Chinese people all over the globe are taking part in the festivities, too.  On Sunday, Chinese President Xi Jinping extended Spring Festival greetings at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
