Venezuela Crisis

The opposition in Venezuela – led by the self-declared interim president Juan Guaido – called for a new round of demonstrations, to pressure President Nicolas Maduro to step down.

Protesters also demanded the military allow blocked humanitarian aid into the country.

At the same time, supporters of President Maduro rallied against what they called “imperialist intervention,” referring to United States support for Guaido, as well as U.S. sanctions.
