LaGuardia Airport in New York was built in 1939. A year later it became the busiest airport in the United States.

It was the pride of the nation. It was state of the art.

By 2016 it was one of the most reviled airports in the nation known for delays, congestion and shoddy facilities.

Now, the airport is finally on its way to entering the 21st century.
