Optimism surrounds ninth round of US, China trade talks

China and the U.S. take steps toward ending their months-long trade dispute.

Negotiators for the two sides are holding their ninth round of talks, this time in Washington.

Vice Premier Liu He is leading the Chinese team, trying to build on the progress at talks last week in Beijing.

The U.S. and China opened a ninth round of talks aiming to further narrow differences in an ongoing trade war. Dan McClory is the managing director and head of the China department for Boustead Securities. He spoke with CGTN’s Elaine Reyes about the latest round of talks.
