In his usual style of negotiation, U.S. President Donald Trump is trying to twist the arm of the opposition to work on immigration reform.
After forcing the longest government shutdown in history, over funding to border security, Trump now said he will consider the idea of releasing “illegal immigrants” into so-called sanctuary cities.
A move meant to punish congressional opponents for inaction on the US-Mexico border.
According to U.S. media, the President’s Senior Policy Adviser, Stephen Miller played a key role in crafting the plan to release undocumented immigrants into cities governed by the opposition.
The U.S. Congress wants Mr. Miller to testify on his policies, but he is shielded by executive privilege.
