Flamenco artists gather in Miami for the “Flamenco Rave”

Americas Now

Flamenco music originates from many places. The genre is a fusion of Spanish and Arabic cultures that combines with elements from Christians, Jews and gypsies.

The music dates back to the eighth century but continues to evolve today.

While the exact year Flamenco first began is unclear it’s widely agreed its golden age lasted from 1869-1910.

In Miami, Florida, a new generation of Flamenco aficionados is pushing the boundaries of the intimate music.

Our Urban Voice is the experimental party Flamenco Rave.
